welcome to rambling abby! this is a blog where i talk about whatever i really feel like, but it can generally be categorized under book & music reviews, lifestyle posts, recipes i love, & ramblings about my life and opinions (spoiler alert- i have a lot of those). i’m a ravenclaw, aspiring writer / editor, future english major, christian, stage manager / mom, and american high school senior just trying to figure life out one anxiety-ridden day at a time.
i love dogs, books, theatre, rock & roll, coffee, feminism, baking, cardigans, seattle, & being stubbornly opinionated. you can generally find me drinking a glass of sweet tea in the sunshine while writing or perusing the internet, with my dog and a snack nearby, and girl punk playing in the background. my weaknesses are cookies and really good black pens, and my influences in life are stevie nicks, sylvia plath, emma watson, kathleen hanna, and dodie clark. i’m also a strong advocate for the oxford comma, body positivity, animal welfare, environmental protection, and the destruction of the patriarchy.
if you love east bay and girl punk music, sad poetry, old books, sweaters, baking, stationary, classic rock, really large mugs, memes, shakespearean plays, nerdy tv shows, harry potter, plants, feminism, black nail polish, musicals, dogs, butterflies, old movies, coffee, lace-up boots, and / or the liberal agenda then this blog is for you. take a look around, tell me if you see anything you like. if you don’t know where to start, you could always go to the beginning and read all the way through. or, you could pick a few of the posts i have listed below that are either some of my favorites or that i picked out to help you understand me / this blog a bit better. in no particular order:
“the u.s. doesn’t need feminism” (10/10 would recommend, i mic drop every white conservative male in my nation and destroy peoples’ arguments left and right it’s the best thing i’ve ever written and everyone should read it)
a few things i believe in (if my feminism post hadn’t already cleared it up for you, also my religious beliefs and fun stuff i just generally base my life around)
something different (just generally good and mental health focused post)
i am but an overwhelmed potato just trying to do her best at life- a thanksgiving post (the title is odd but to this day this is one of my favorite things i’ve ever written)
everything cookies (1 of 3 recipes i’ve ever actually posted and my go-to cookie recipe in real life)
my book rating system (good place to start if you’re interested in my book taste and how i review things)
summer get ready with me + mini haul (the most popular post i’ve ever written)
50 random facts about me (updated version coming soon)
ch ch ch changes (and some thoughts on being happy) (clears up any confusion on my name changing throughout the progression of this blog and generally good post)
if you’re another blogger interested in collaborating with me, or you’d just like to say hi, you can shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. if you don’t receive a response within 24 hours, i would suggest commenting on this about page or another one of my posts to tell me to check my inbox. unless you’re cool with not getting a response for like two weeks…
